What is a radiant panel heater?

A radiant panel heater has a heating element built into a flat panel. The panel warms up and radiates heat to the people and surfaces nearby, rather than blowing warm air around the room.

Wall panels or ceiling panels?

  • Glass and marble wall heaters are decorative panels for rooms where the heater is part of the look, such as living areas, reception areas and offices.
  • Ceiling panels and cassettes mount on the ceiling, in a suspended ceiling grid or on hangers, and suit offices, shops and other commercial spaces.

For large or high spaces, radiant strip heaters may suit better.

What to consider

  • The space. Room size, ceiling height and where people sit, stand or work.
  • Position. Where the panel can go, and the wall or ceiling it mounts to.
  • Controls. Built-in protection and room controls depend on the selected model, and controls are specified to suit your rooms.
  • Bathrooms. Whether a panel suits a bathroom depends on the model and its position, which must meet electrical safety rules.
  • Connection. Each panel is connected by a licensed electrician.
